Experienced Pipe Layer

Job Description

City Hill Excavating is looking for an experienced Pipe Layer to work with Project Managers, Forepersons, Operators, and other team members to lay out and install multiple types of piping and precast concrete structures while adhering to established processes and using safe work practices. This is a full-time position, with possible overtime opportunities. Wage is based on experience.

Responsibilities:

· Must have at least 1 year experience with underground utilities consisting of sewer, water, and storm drain projects.

· Responsible for installing underground pipes in various sizes and types for commercial and residential utility systems.

· Lay out pipe routes following written instructions or blueprints and coordinating layouts with forepersons and supervisors, aligning the pipes at proper depths, angles, and grades and prepare them for sealing. Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using cement or glue.

· Maintain depth by checking the pipe laser or grade stakes and communicating with operator.

· The pipe layer is also responsible for rigging and setting concrete precast structures such as inlet structures, sanitary manholes, meter pits, etc.

· The pipe layer is essential in effectively communicating with other team members regarding the excavating activities associated with installing the pipe to ensure work is performed safely and efficiently.

· Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

· Must have 1 year pipe laying experience.

· Ability to read and understand blueprints.

· Keen attention to detail

· Must have clean driver’s license.

· Must pass a Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol test

· CDL not required but a plus

• Pay for this position: $24.00 - $35.00 per hour
