Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic

Job Description

City Hill Excavating is seeking an experienced and dependable Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic to join our growing team. This position will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing and repairing Heavy Equipment, doing so in a safe, efficient and timely manner.

This is a full-time position, with overtime opportunities, where you will be working along side experienced technicians. Training will be provided to advance skills.

Responsibilities:

· Service and maintenance of Heavy Equipment

· General repairs of Heavy Equipment

· Routine services on Heavy Equipment

· Preparing work plans after fully diagnosing the issues

· Running diagnostic tests and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions

· Inspecting vehicle systems

· Repairing or replacing parts

· Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance

· Completing oil changes and brake checks

· Maintaining records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles

Requirements:

· Must have two years experience or technical training or college education as mechanic/technician

· Must have clean driver’s license.

· Must pass a Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol test

· CDL not required but a plus

· Ability to weld and use oxy-acetylene torch

· Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics

· Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools

· Excellent problem-solving skills

· Keen attention to detail

· Knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay for this position: $28.00 - $40.00 per hour
